Security forces overnight Sunday demolished the Hazon David Synagogue compound in Kiryat Arba.
Hazon David was built in 2001, in memory of David Hacohen and Chezi Muallem, who were shot dead by terrorists near the entrance to Kiryat Arba on the very same day.
In the past, the High Court ruled that the synagogue is located on private Arab land and security forces have demolished it time and time again – more than 40 times, in fact.
However, the congregants have rebuilt the synagogue each time it has been torn down.
Last October, IDF and police forces raided the synagogue and declared it a “delimited zone.”
Nationalist activists claimed at the time that the IDF’s Hevron Regiment Commander had threatened that his forces would occupy the building as the IDF did at the Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in Yitzhar.
The congregants at Hazon David vowed to keep on frequenting the synagogue.
