Justin Bieber Will Perform In Tel Aviv May 2017

December 13, 2016

Israel’s fan scene is abuzz in anticipation of Justin Bieber’s second visit to the Holy Land.

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber will perform in Israel as part of his Purpose World Tour, the Israeli company producing the show announced Thursday. The celebrity singer is scheduled to perform in May 2017 at Tel Aviv’s HaYarkon Park.

Bieber first performed in Israel in 2011 when he was 17 years old. Despite a successful concert before some 20,000 fans, the visit did not go smoothly, as the teen sensation clashed with paparazzi while visiting Israel’s holy sites.

Ticket sales began Saturday, and members of Bieber’s official Israeli fan club enjoyed an early sale Thursday. Over 20,000 tickets have already been sold.

Bieber’s 2009 debut album, “My World,” sold millions of copies worldwide and made him one of the youngest success stories in contemporary pop music. The Purpose World Tour is being brought to Israel by Romanian producer Marcel Abraham through his attorney Haggai Stravis. The executive producer of Bieber’s concert in Israel is Mario Arlovski.

Bieber is joining a growing list of front-line performers who will rock Israel in 2017.

Other top artists include Aerosmith and Guns N’ Roses. Advanced talks are underway with Coldplay regarding a performance at Israel’s ancient Masada fortress next October. A summer gig with Britney Spears is also under consideration.

The Chemical Brothers held a fabulous concert in Israel earlier in November, despite pressure by anti-Israel activist Roger Waters to cancel the event.

In 2016, Israel was treated to a long list of prestigious performers , including Elton John, Deep Purple, Sia, Julio Iglesias, Megadeth and the Scorpions, several of whom had encountered pressure by anti-Israel elements to boycott Israel and cancel their shows but chose to disregard it.
