Israelis buy American cars on the web

E-commerce giant eBay and USHOPSmotors, a company which specializes in importing vehicles from the United States to Israel, on Sunday announced a new joint platform which allows Israelis to buy cars and motorcycles from abroad on eBay. The new joint interface of eBay and USHOPSmotors makes the process simpler and quicker.

Until today, importing a personal vehicle was a complex procedure associated mostly with luxury vehicles, but reality turns out to be different. Data by eBay finds that over the last six months there has been an increase of over 40% in online purchasing of cars and motorcycles by Israelis, and that Israelis have acquired more than 600 thousand vehicle parts during this time period.

“I think it’s the beginning of a revolution,” said Elad Goldenberg of eBay Israel in a conversation with Arutz Sheva. “I think it’s really amazing and exciting to see people buying a car with the click of a button, without seeing it and without conducting any tests beforehand, just relying on the trust they have in our platform.”

Among the most popular vehicles among Israelis are the Corvette, Mustang, and Rolls-Royce, said Goldenberg, who noted that eBay is trustworthy for online purchases due to its system of seller performance rating.

“Once I place the order, eBay makes sure that everything has been done according to its policy, and we make sure that the customer at the end is happy with the result,” he explained. “Our goal is to make everybody happy, so we’re doing everything in our power to make such purchases successful.”

The new initiative with USHOPSmotors “assists Israelis in placing an order to buy a vehicle online from eBay”, said Goldenberg. “We’ve created a new shopping experience for Israelis and made this process smooth, in making such a large and also emotional purchase.”
