Israeli Rifle Named Rifle of the Year in America

An Israeli-made rifle has been named the winner of the 2014 Golden Bullseye Award for American Rifleman Rifle of the Year.

The rifle is the TAVOR SAR, which was introduced in 2013. The award will be given to Israel Weapon Industries (IWI), its American subsidiary announced, according to the American Rifleman magazine.

The prestigious award, now in its 12th year, acknowledges the finest products available in the shooting sports. Winners are selected by a seven-member committee and must meet or exceed the evaluator’s expectations.

American Rifleman noted that since its introduction, the TAVOR SAR received exemplary reviews on its performance, innovation in design, styling and function.

The TAVOR SAR was reviewed and chosen over thousands of other products reviewed by the American Rifleman staff to receive the most highly anticipated and regarded award in the shooting sports industry.

“Receiving the 2014 Golden Bullseye Award for the TAVOR SAR is a great honor for IWI US,” said Michael Kassnar, VP of Sales and Marketing for IWI US.

“The award is one of our industry’s highest honors and IWI US will continue to produce only the highest quality, performance-driven products for our very demanding and very loyal customers,” he added.
