Israeli drama “Policeman” topped the international competition at the Buenos Aires Independent Film Festival (BAFICI), which began April 11 and closed Sunday.

“Policeman,” which made its debut last year, is a tragicomic take on counter-terrorism military forces and a group of young upper-class revolutionaries.

The film’s director, Nadav Lapid, also took home the award for best director. This was Lapid’s first full-length feature film. His short films have been screened in the past in the Berlin, Cannes and Locarno festivals.

The film, which has been restricted to viewers under the age of 18, won three awards at the Jerusalem Film Festival.
