Israel has seen unprecedented rainfall in the past 24 hours, causing multiple traffic jams and accidents – but also providing a boon to agriculture.
45 mm (1.7 inches) of rain fell in Kedumim Wednesday, as well as 55mm (2.1 inches) in Jerusalem, 70 mm (2.7 inches) in Petah Tikva, 85 mm (3.3 inches) in Mevaseret, and 40 mm (1.5 inches) in Katzrin (Golan – ed.).
Rain will continue throughout the night in northern Israel and the Merkaz (Center) area, and some rainfall will reach the northern Negev by Thursday morning.
Snow fell on Mount Hermon in the north, as well, and winds will continue to be high throughout the Golan Heights.
Flood warnings remain in the Jerusalem, Judea-Samaria, and Dead Sea areas.
Meanwhile, tourists continued to stroll through the downpour in Jerusalem throughout Wednesday, and a rare rainbow was spotted directly over the Temple Mount.
