Palestinian Authority Arabs have been busy attacking IDF soldiers in various areas around Judea and Samaria (Yehuda and Shomron) on Monday, beginning from the early morning hours.
An IDF soldier was wounded in a rock attack late in the afternoon by a rioting PA Arab during a demonstration in Hevron. The soldier was hit in the face by a rock that was hurled by one of the “protesters” taking part in the demonstration. He was treated by medics at the scene.
Rock attacks can be, and are intended to be lethal to the victims. On more than one occasion, Israelis have died as a result of being attacked by PA Arabs hurling rocks. According to IDF sources, more than 2,000 such attacks have been recorded since the start of this year.
Israeli soldiers responded to all mobs and attacks with professional crowd control measures, according to the IDF.
At about 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, a group of PA Arab terrorists attacked Israeli soldiers who were guarding a checkpoint at the entrance to the Jewish community in Hevron.
The Arabs hurled firebomb explosives (Molotov cocktails) at the troops. After several warnings were ignored, the soldiers fired back, wounding one of the attackers. The injured Arab was treated at the scene by an army medic before being evacuated to a hospital in Jerusalem. None of the IDF soldiers were wounded in the attack.
Also on Monday, hundreds of people attended the funeral of Lior Farhi, the civilian security coordinator of the town of Shaarei Tikvah, who was killed Sunday by Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists at the Oranim checkpoint on Highway 5.
Farhi was killed when an Arab drove a van full of illegal Arabs through the checkpoint. Recording the incident, he nevertheless “paid with his life” trying to stop the illegal Arabs from reaching Tel Aviv, Gershon Mesika, the leader of the Samarian Regional Council, told Arutz Sheva.
The security coordinator was laid to rest at the military section of the Segula cemetery in Petach Tivah.
