IDF Soldier Found Dead in Jordan Valley

An IDF soldier, a resident of the town of Dolev in the Binyamin region of Samaria north of Jerusalem, was found lifeless with gunshot wounds on Friday at the IDF memorial in the Jordan Valley.

He served in the Armored Corps’ 401 Brigade, and his family has been notified.

Military Police have opened an investigation into the death.

Security forces have not revealed the soldier’s identity to the media.

Friends of the deceased have demanded a thorough investigation and to keep the soldier’s identity quiet for the time being.

“The family is in shock and great sorrow and it is difficult for it to speak at this stage,” one friend of the deceased told Arutz Sheva anonymously. “We are asking from military sources to further investigate this surprising death in this sensitive security area.”
