The IDF retaliated once again for a barrage of rocket fire aimed at southern Israel overnight Saturday.

According to a statement by the IDF Spokesman, IAF aircraft struck a weapons manufacturing site in northern Gaza.

The statement said that the aircraft directly hit their targets and added that several secondary explosions were detected. All Israeli planes returned safely to their bases.

On Saturday, terrorists resumed their rocket fire on southern Israeli communities. Two Grad missiles slammed into the Asheklon Coastal Region, both exploding in open areas of the district.

Earlier in the morning, two short-range Qassam rockets were launched at the Eshkol Regional Council District at about 7:30 a.m. Both exploded on open fields, causing no physical injuries or damage.

The Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) terrorist organization, allied with the Hamas terrorist rulers of Gaza, claimed responsibility for the attacks, which abated by Saturday afternoon.

A barrage of rocket fire had struck the region on Friday as well, bringing the total to 17 missiles launched in less than 24 hours.

No one was physically injured. The residents of southern Israel were asked to remain close to shelters or other protected spaces. They were instructed to enter the shelters when the “Red Alert” siren is sounded and wait ten minutes before coming out.

The IDF also retaliated for the rocket fire late Friday night, when Israeli fighter pilots attacked terrorist targets in southern Gaza.

According to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson’s office, a terror-affiliated site in the southern part of Gaza was targeted, and a direct hit was confirmed. There was no specific information on the target struck, or on its subsequent results.
