IDF officer injured in bomb blast north of Jerusalem

An IDF officer was injured Tuesday evening in a bomb blast near Hizme Checkpoint, north of Jerusalem.

The victim was treated at the scene by United Hatzalah paramedics before being taken to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital for further treatment.

He is listed in serious condition with injuries to his facial area.

Security forces located two additional pipe bombs at the scene, attached to a gas cylinder. A bomb disposal technician safely disarmed the devices.

Dvir Adani, a volunteer medic with United Hatzalah, was among the first responders at the scene.

“When I arrived at the scene I saw a young man who was suffering from a head wound,” he said. “Together with other volunteer medics we treated the injured man after which he was transferred on by an emergency services ambulance to the hospital.

“He was fully conscious at the time of evacuation. We did not find any other injured persons during the incident.”

It is the second terrorist attack Tuesday, after two elderly women were stabbed by Arab terrorists in Jerusalem.

A manhunt is still underway for the perpetrators of that attack.
