IAF Hits Hamas Infrastructure in Central Gaza

Israeli Air Force (IAF) aircraft on Friday evening struck a terrorist infrastructure belonging to Hamas in central Gaza, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.

A direct hit at the target was identified, according to the statement.

The airstrike was in retaliation for Friday afternoon’s rocket attack from Gaza on the Eshkol region in southern Israel, the statement continued, adding that Hamas bears responsibility for any rocket fire from Gaza on Israel.

The rocket that was fired on Friday afternoon struck an open field just north of Kisufim, and just inside Israel’s borders. There were no reports of physical injuries.

This is the second attack aimed at Israel from the Hamas-run Gaza enclave in one day. Late Thursday night, terrorists fired three rockets at Israel; all fell short and struck Gaza itself.

A similar incident occurred on Saturday night, when two rockets that were fired from Gaza exploded on the Palestinian side of the border fence.
