Grandson of Hizbullah Arch-Terrorist Wants to be Like Grandpa

The grandson of a Hizbullah arch-terrorist who died in a mysterious explosion four years ago, wants to be just like his grandfather.

The Al-Manar television network, which is run by the Lebanese terrorist organization, hosted this week in studio the family of Imad Mughniyeh. In a clip from the show, which was presented on the website of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Mughniyeh’s grandson is shown.

The boy, who was named after his grandfather, is seen in the clip wearing military fatigues. The host is seen asking him what he wants to be when he grows up, to which he responds, “I will be in the resistance. Like grandpa.”

The adults who are sitting next to the boy are then shown handing him a gun that belonged to his grandfather. As the child is holding the gun, the host says that Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah has said that the senior Mughniyeh “left behind thousands upon thousands of soldiers.”

Imad Mughniyeh, who was nicknamed the Hizbullah’s “chief of staff”, was killed in a car-bomb attack in Damascus in February of 2008, reportedly while in the midst of planning major terrorist attacks in moderate Arab countries.

Both Hizbullah and Syria blamed Israel for killing Mughniyeh, and Hizbullah has promised to avenge his death. Last week, Nasrallah threatened to hurt senior Israeli officials in revenge for Mughniyeh’s death.
