German Woman Attempts to Throw Fireworks on Israeli Embassy

A woman was arrested in Berlin, on Saturday, after trying to throw a small suitcase filled with fireworks on the grounds of the Israeli Embassy, the Associated Press (AP) reported.

German police said the suitcase contained less than 10 fireworks, no trigger mechanism and posed no real security threat.

The suspect also attempted to throw anti-Semitic newspaper articles, including pictures of swastikas, on embassy grounds.

Police said that the middle-aged woman was immediately detained by the embassy’s security guards and arrested by police late Saturday.

Authorities noted that while the woman has been released, she is currently under investigation for possessing illegal explosives and unconstitutional signs. Nazi symbols, including swastikas, are illegal in Germany, said the AP
