Four Israeli Soldiers Hurt in Firebomb Attack

Arabs attacked an IDF jeep near Hevron with firebombs during the Shavuot holiday Wednesday, causing it to overturn and catch fire. Two of the soldiers were taken to Soroka Hospital in Beersheva and they are reportedly suffering from second and third degree burns. Two other soldiers were slightly hurt.

Arabs marked “Nakba Day” on Wednesday – the day of the Middle Eastern Arab countries’ overwhelming defeat in the concerted attempt to commit genocide against the Jews of the Land of Israel in 1948.

The fire bomb incident occurred in the village of Hursa, near Hevron. The four soldiers who were inside the jeep managed to get out of it, and Arabs continued to pummel them with rocks, in the knowledge that current legal orders prohibit soldiers from firing at rock throwers. Additional forces arrived on the scene and Arabs were dispersed.

The soldiers were taken to hospital for treatment.

Three policemen were hurt in confrontations with Arab rioters near Shechem Gate (Damascus Gate) in the Old City. Eight Arabs were arrested.

In Kalandia, north of Jerusalem, the IDF used tear gas to disperse Arabs who hurled rocks. An Arab news agency said that 15 Arabs were hurt by rubber bullets at a riot near the Ofer prison.

In Ramallah, a siren sounded for 65 seconds – representing the 65 years of Israel’s existence.
