Former Head of Mossad in Israel after Liver Transplant

Former Head of Mossad, Meir Dagan, landed in Israel Saturday afternoon and was transferred to a hospital in central Israel for recovery from a liver transplant operation he underwent in Belarus, in early October.
Channel 2 said that he is conscious and in stable condition.
Several days ago, Dagan’s condition was reported to be improving. He was said to be no longer under anesthesia, no longer artificially respirated, and sitting in a couch next to his bed.
Dagan apparently chose to have the transplant in Belarus because of the ready availability of organs for transplant there.
In an article penned for Yediot Aharonot from Belarus several days ago, Maj. Gen. (ret.) Yossi Ben-Hanan, Dagan’s friend, wrote that Dagan “has always been victorious, [and] I know that this time, too, with the help of G-d, he is winning.”
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, revealed Dagan’s presence in Minsk in a press conference two weeks ago. Security around Dagan was increased following this revelation.
