Temperatures will be unusually warm on Thursday but wintry weather is expected for the weekend ahead.
Skies during the day Thursday will be partly cloudy and the weather unseasonably dry. Some drizzling may start in the afternoon with full rain storms expected in northern and central Israel by the evening.
The trend will continue overnight and by Friday temperatures will have fallen sharply and weather in Israel’s center and north will be both rainy and windy.
Fresh snow is expected to fall on Mount Hermon and there is a risk of flooding in various locations across the country as thunderstorms hit Israel from north to south.
Rains are expected to slow on Saturday, though intermittent showers are predicted, especially in southern Israel.
Temperatures will begin rising again on Sunday and pleasant weather is expected throughout the course of next week.
Temperatures on Thursday will reach 20°C (68°F) in the Golan Heights and at the Kinneret, 19° (66°) in Nazareth, 21° (70°) in Haifa, 24° (75°) in Tel Aviv, 23° (73°) in the Shfela region, 19° (66°) in Ariel and Jerusalem, 24° (75°) in Be’er Sheva, and 25° (77°) at the Dead Sea.
