First Kosher Wine Fest Held in Jerusalem

February 13, 2012

Wine Seven Two is the name of a kosher wine exhibition, the first of its kind, which recently took place in Jerusalem. Arutz Sheva was there.

The exhibition included an amazing display of fine wine. On display was a range of Israeli wines, kosher French champagnes, Spanish wines and many more. As part of the experience, internationally renowned chefs held cooking classes using kosher wine.

“It’s great to see that so many people have come here,” said Adam Montefiore, Wine Development Director at the Carmel and Yatir wineries. “It’s a real festival.”

He added, “One of the best things is that the wines are so good, from all wineries in Israel. I think everyone in Israel is making better wine than they did ten years ago.”

One the presenters at the exhibition was Nir Lavi of the Har Bracha winery, who said, “We’ve grown our vineyards since 1998 on a high mountainous area. We have a nice climate on Har Bracha. From the Jordan Valley we have hot weather, and on the eastern side from the Mediterranean Sea, we have cold breezes. These give us a very good and unique microclimate for growing fine grapes.”

“This year,” he added, “we’ve manufactured in our winery, because of the market’s demands, more than 20,000 bottles and we hope that there will be good blessing on this wine.”
