A 32-year-old father of three was killed on Friday afternoon after falling into a pit of water in Gush Etzion.
The man and his three children were visiting an archaeological site near the community of Tekoa when, according to police, the ball with which the children were playing fell into a pit of water. The father fell into the pit while trying to get the ball and did not respond to his children when they called out to him.
A passerby noticed the children and called local security forces.
A team of Magen David Adom paramedics, a rescue unit from Gush Etzion and local police searched the area until they found the father’s body and declared him dead.
Police said there is no suspicion of foul play and that the death was not of a nationalistic or criminal nature.
