The Jerusalem District Attorney filed an indictment to the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court Friday against a terrorist who drove three others to Damascus Gate to murder Jews.

Fifty-seven-year-old Khamis Slayameh, an Arab resident of Wadi Joz, drove three terrorists to Jerusalem in February, where they shot and fatally wounded 19-year-old Border Police officer Hadar Cohen and injured another. 

Slayameh is being charged with criminal negligence and transporting illegal aliens. 

According to the indictment, Slayameh took three Palestinian Authority (PA) residents of Jenin without authorization papers to enter Israel into the Arab Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya for 150 shekels ($40). 

That afternoon, the four met at the security fence; they crossed it via a rope ladder dressed in respectable clothing, smelling of cologne, and with bulging bags. Slayameh drove the three to Issawiya, where they exited the car near the local mosque. 

After making their way to the Damascus Gate, two of the terrorists sat on a bench while a third waited in hiding. Border Police officers took note of the three men, and the staff – including Hadar Cohen – approached them to check identity papers. 

One of the terrorists then drew a Karl Gustav rifle from his coat and pointed it at the officer; the officer hit the terrorist’s hand to neutralize him, then shot him. The second terrorist stabbed another Border Police officer over and over until he was shot and neutralized. The third terrorist exited his hiding place and shot Cohen.

After the attack, Cohen died from her wounds; the stabbing victim, named as Ravit, was seriously injured.
