Dozens of IDF Soldiers Stranded by Hurricane Sandy
November 1, 2012
Dozens of IDF soldiers who are currently in the United States’ eastern seaboard area are unable to return to Israel as scheduled, due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy.
The IDF’s Service Conditions (Tash) array has issued a special update following the storm in order to assist these soldiers.
According to the update, soldiers who will not be able to return until after the official end of their vacations from the IDF will not have to give up additional vacation days. Instead, they will be asked to file a request for a special vacation to the IDF’s Individual Assistance Center.
However, any soldier whose discharge from the IDF was postponed to enable his trip will have to extend the postponement of the discharge date.
