Chiropractor’s dying wish: Don’t vote Trump

In his death notice, Pittsburgh-based chiropractor Jeffrey Cohen asked his mourners, in lieu of flowers, not to vote for Donald Trump.

JTA reported that Cohen’s obituary, posted Wednesday on the Legacy.com website by McCabe Bros’ Funeral Homes, said he died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, in the suburb of Squirrel Hill.

The text of the notice made it abundantly clear that Cohen was a colorful character throughout his 70-year-long life.

As a teenager, he worked at a Montana ranch and “took pride in being the only Jewish cowboy that he knew of.”

He eventually became known as a “chiropractor to the stars,” with clients who included Fred Rogers of “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” fame, singer Liza Minnelli and parody songwriter “Weird Al” Yankovic, as well as boxers, ballet dancers and members of the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers. He eventually opened a Manhattan practice, besides the one in Pittsburgh.

“He was also a voracious teller of jokes of all kinds, especially dirty and groan-inducing ones,” the ad said. “He had a great smile and all his teeth were still his.”

It concluded: “Jeffrey would ask that in lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Donald Trump,” but noted nonetheless that donations to a charity of one’s choice or to the chiropractic educational foundation Cohen had founded were also acceptable.
