Caretaker who strapped handicapped woman to fence arrested
August 4, 2016Police arrested the caretaker of a handicapped woman, whom she had strapped to a fence in a neighborhood of Bnei Brak, after a picture of the incident circulated on social media.
Police have opened an investigation.
One pedestrian related how she had noticed the woman strapped to the fence yesterday.
“I saw this old woman in a wheelchair tied to a fence; I went grocery shopping and, when I got out 40 minutes later, she was still sitting there in the blazing heat.
“I came up to her and asked if she wanted water, I could see that she was sweating profusely and that she could barely communicate with me,” she described.
“I went into a nearby store and noticed a foreign worker there, I asked her if she was responsible for the handicapped woman – she told me was and immediately apologized, then went to bring the woman water.”
