Brother Born to Infant Terror Victim Adelle Biton

Adva Biton, the mother of four-year-old rock terror victim Adelle and three other daughters, gave birth to her first son on Friday.

Adelle just returned home two weeks ago after a grueling rehabilitation period, after being wounded in an attack last March by Arab terrorists who threw rocks at the family car near Ariel, causing it to veer off the road and crash headfirst into a truck.

Just three years old at the time, Adelle was hit directly in the head by a fist-sized rock, miraculously surviving her critical injuries; however, she remains only able to respond to certain stimuli and capable of some movement, with a long rehabilitation still ahead of her.

Adelle was present in the hospital room where her baby brother was born on Friday, after being at the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv last week for surgery herself.

“It advanced quickly,” Adva said of the birth to Yedioth Aharonoth. “I was with Adelle and at 12:30 in the afternoon I felt that I had to give birth. I took Adelle with me to the birthing room and within an hour, thank G-d, I gave birth.”

“Throughout the whole birth I shouted Adelle’s name, at every contraction. Every drop of sweat and tears brings redemption. I’m certain that she understood what happened,” added the mother.

Speaking about her new son, Adva added “the baby is healthy and whole, and we thank the Holy One blessed be He.”

Back at the family home in Yakir, located in Samaria, Adelle is receiving speech therapy and physiotherapy to deal with the serious damage inflicted by the rock attack.

Previously she had been at the Beit Lowenstein Hospital in Raanana for rehabilitation; earlier this year the hospital took steps to release Adelle from their care, at which her family took the case to court, and in May it was agreed that she would be allowed to remain for an additional four months.

The birth comes just as several rock attacks are making the news, most notably in an Arab ambush on a family car in Jerusalem’s Wadi Joz neighborhood after the family took a wrong turn on Thursday. The family managed to escape the hail of rocks and bricks with only minor injury, but massive damage to their car.

Also on Thursday, Arab terrorists were caught on film throwing rocks at Israeli motorists on Highway 60 near Ofra in Samaria, not far from where Adelle was tragically wounded. The terrorists were apprehended thanks to the film evidence and alertness.
