Arabs Attack Jews in Karnei Shomron Olive Harvest; Jew Arrested

October 10, 2011

A resident of the Samaria Jewish community of Karnei Shomron was arrested Monday afternoon in what appears to be another case of incitement by Palestinian Authority Arabs.

The Arabs entered the security zone of the community ostensibly to harvest their olives, under the protection of the IDF, but reportedly used the opportunity instead to attack Karnei Shomron residents.

In the melee that followed, local sources informed Arutz Sheva that police arrested a Jewish youth at the scene, rather than focusing on the Arab provocations. The youth was taken by police for questioning.

An attorney from the Honenu legal rights organization immediately began working to secure the youth’s release.

Yesterday (Sunday) Jewish hikers were also attacked by Palestinians hurling rocks. The Arabs were accompanied by extreme leftists toting cameras to photograph any attempt by Jews to defend themselves or retaliate.

Also on Sunday, Itamar residents were shocked to see local Arabs — including some from the Awad family that brutally murdered five members of the Fogel family earlier this year — entering the confines of the community’s security zone, also under IDF protection, ostensibly to harvest their olives.

It was precisely during such an activity one year ago that two young terrorists, 19-year-old Amjad Awad and 17-year-old Hakim Awad, gathered their information enabling them to carry out the savage murders.

Both murderers later expressed pride in having slaughtered the two parents, a 3-month-old baby, and two little boys, ages 4 and 11, orphaning a 12-year-old girl and her two remaining brothers, ages 2 and 8.
