A makeshift memorial to a young father and son murdered by Palestinian Authority terrorists was defaced overnight. The memorial was covered with Arabic writing, and with a picture of a terrorist recently set free in the Shalit deal.
Israeli media outlets which have given significant coverage to recent Jewish “price tag” activity, particularly a terror orphan’s vandalism of the Rabin memorial, failed to even report the incident.
The desecration of the memorial to Asher and Yonatan Palmer “fits in very well with the enemy’s victory celebrations and boasting, fed by Israel’s collapse [in the Shalit deal],” said the grassroots Judea Residents’ Council.
Other residents expressed concern that the desecration indicates things to come. The vandalism “proves yet again how easy it is for hostile, dangerous elements to reach the junction – and to threaten lives,” they told Arutz Sheva.
The Palmers were murdered by terrorists who threw a rock at their car from an oncoming car, hitting Asher in the head and causing him to lose control of the car. The vehicle swerved off the road and crashed, killing both Asher and baby Yonatan, who died shortly before what would have been his first birthday.
