Amanda Peet is penning a children’s book after signing a deal for her first foray into the literary world.

The Jewish actress is set to release the picture book “Dear Santa, Love Rachel Rosenstein,” co-created with her friend Andrea Troyer. It focuses on a young Jewish girl who questions why St. Nick never visits her home over the winter holidays.

The story, which will come out under Random House next year, was inspired by Peet’s own children, who wondered why they didn’t have a Christmas tree.
