Condemnation flooded in Monday evening for the stabbing attack in Beit Horon which left two women injured, one of them critically.
Speaking from the Knesset plenum, Science Minister Ofir Akunis (Likud) blamed the attack on ongoing incitement from the Palestinian Authority (PA) and its leader Mahmoud Abbas.
“Palestinian terror attacks have continued for four months,” Aknuis blasted. “In the last few hours, two women were attacked by terrorists, two-legged animals.”
“Just as those before them, they were influenced by the official incitement funded and organized by the PA and personal responsibility lies on the head of Abu Mazen (Abbas – ed.).”
Abbas has been viewed as having kicked off the current terror wave, when in September he blessed every drop of blood shed in Jerusalem “for Allah” and called to stop “filthy” Jews from visiting the Temple Mount.
President Reuven Rivlin also addressed the stabbing, stressing Israel would continue to choose life in the face of terrorism.
“My thoughts and prayers are with those wounded and fighting for their lives after the severe terror attack at Beit Horon,” he emphasized.
“These difficult times are fraught with confrontation and we will overcome. We will continue to fight against terrorism and the incitement which drives it. In the face of terror, we choose life.”
