ADL joins fray, accuses Im Tirtzu of ‘incitement’

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) lashed out overnight Thursday at a video produced by grassroots Zionist NGO Im Tirtzu, which singles out four leftist activists as examples of “foreign agents” and accuses them of assisting the terrorist enemy.

The American Jewish group called the video “outrageous” and demanded Im Tirtzu issue an apology for their “unwarranted attack” on the activists and the left-wing organizations they work for.

The clip “employs fear tactics to accuse Israeli human rights activists and organizations of being culpable in the ongoing wave of Palestinian terrorism,” ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt and acting Director of ADL’s Israel office, Carole Nuriel, said in a statement.

“This is a form of incitement which crosses the line into hate speech.”

Accusing the four activists and their organizations “of supporting Palestinian terror in order to delegitimize their activities is outrageous and potentially libelous,” the ADL added.

Earlier this week, Meretz chairwoman Zehava Galon said the faction had sent an urgent message to the Attorney General requesting he investigate the “warped and dangerous” video on suspicion of incitement.

She also issued a complaint with Facebook, and urged others to follow suit, to have the video taken down.
