A great loss for the Torah world
August 3, 2016The Rosh Yeshiva (Dean) of the “Ohr Elhanan” yeshiva, Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Hadash, passed away today at the age of 75.
Rabbi Hadash was diagnosed with a serious illness several months ago and spent the time since in and out of the hospital going through difficult and draining treatments.
In the last week his condition deteriorated and he passed away with his family and his students at his side.
In the first few years of the existence of the Ohr Elhanan yeshiva it was located in the Ezrat Torah neighborhood of Jerusalem. Several years ago Rabbi Hadash managed to facilitate the building of a new premises for the yeshiva in the Romema neighborhood, where hundreds of students now study Torah.
