Police presence was high Sunday morning at the funeral of Rabbi Chaim Grenimann in Bnei Brak, who died on Friday at the age of 89.
Police are apparently not taking risks after the horrific trampling disaster during Rabbi Shmuel Halevi Wosner’s funeral earlier this month, which saw hundreds injured and resulted in two deaths.
The funeral procession left at 10:00 am from the Hiddushei HaRim st. in Bnei Brak to ‘Shomrei Shabbat Zichron Meir’ cemetery and so far has been without incident.
The Dan Region Police stressed participants to be considerate of others during the funeral and be wary of overcrowding.
Earlier this month, four people were critically wounded by being trampled during the funeral as some 100,000 mourners surged towards the stretcher bearing the body of Rabbi Wosner.
Two of the injured, 18 year-old Yitzhak Samet and 27 year-old Mordechai Gerber, died from injuries sustained during the incident.
