The winner of the Bible Marathon held in Binyamin on Thursday morning was Ariel Rosenfeld of Kfar Saba. In second place was Yosef Fish from Mevasseret Zion and in third place Zion Neger from Ashkelon.
The Bible Marathon, held for the first time in 2015, relives the biblical story of an Israelite man from the tribe of Binyamin (Benjamin) who escaped a disastrous battle with the Philistines and sprinted all the way to Shiloh, which was then the capital of Israel, to break the news of the death of the sons of Eli the High Priest, as told in the Book of Samuel.
The full length of the marathon is 42.2 kilometers or 26.2 miles. The starting point was Even Ha’ezer near Rosh HaAyin; the finishing point was in Shiloh.
The Bible Marathon also featured a half marathon which also started from close to Rosh HaAyin and ended in Ariel. In addition, a 15 kilometer run from Ariel to Shiloh was held, as well as a 5 kilometer race within Shiloh.
