Likud and Labor Continue to Run in Dead Heat

Likud and the “Zionist camp” of Labor and Hatnua continue to run neck-and-neck in polls closing in on the March 17 elections, with a new poll Thursday by Teleseker for Channel 1 showing the two have achieved complete parity at 24 seats apiece.

Jewish Home and the united Arab list continue to compete for the third spot, with the poll giving Jewish Home a slight edge at 13 and the Arab parties 12.

Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid comes in at 11, and Moshe Kahlon’s Kulanu gets eight, with Shas and United Torah Judaism tying at seven each.

Avgidor Liberman’s Yisrael Beytenu continues to suffer from the aftermath of an ongoing corruption scandal, with the poll placing the party at six mandates.

Eli Yishai’s Yachad – Ha’am Itanu running with Otzma Yehudit passes the threshold as it has in every poll since the two parties combined, receiving four mandates. The far left Meretz party likewise gets four seats in the poll.

Earlier on Thursday Likud decided to remove its court petition against the leftist V15 organization which has US backing in trying to dethrone Binyamin Netanyahu, as well as “One Voice” and the leftist parties. The request to remove the petition was acted on by the Jerusalem District Court.

Judge Tzvi Segel recommended removing the petition on Wednesday given a lack of clear evidence proving the connection between V15 and the leftist parties.

Likud is waiting for an investigation of the petition by the police and the State Comptroller.
