Members of grassroots Zionist movement Im Tirtzu visited Ghazi Hasisi from Daliat al-Karmel who had been attacked after speaking Arabic at a club in Kibbutz Yagur. 

Hasisi, a Golani fighter, stepped out of the Ultra Sound club on Yagur last Friday and was attacked by a group of young people who hurled rocks at him because they heard him speak Arabic.

Two weeks ago, the same thing happened to Tommy Hasson, a Druze army veteran, near the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem.

Members of Im Tirtzu visited Hasisi at Rambam Hospital in Haifa on Sunday. They spoke with his family and gave him flowers in a show of support.

Matan Peleg, CEO of Im Tirtzu, said: “The Druze community is a cornerstone of Israeli society and is at the forefront of its protection. Those who abuse this population – whose recruitment rate into the IDF is among the highest in the country – endanger the entire Zionist enterprise. We condemn these actions and fight against them. We stand alongside those who have tied their fate with that of the Jewish people.”
