Pulitzer Winner, NYU President Talk ‘Baseball and God’

What do baseball and God have to do with each other?

Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist George Will and New York University (NYU) President John Sexton intend to probe that very question in their conversation “Baseball, Traditional and God” next month.

The talk, hosted at Yeshiva University’s Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought, will take place on December 17 at 7 p.m. at the Shenk Community Shul, at 560 West 185th Street in New York City.

Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik, director of the Straus Center, is to moderate the discussion, which is free and open to the public, and is part of the Center’s “Great Conversation” series that has already included US Senator Joseph Lieberman, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and former Newark Mayor Cory Baker.

Will is a popular conservative political columnist, who has a column in The Washington Post and appears regularly on FOX News and ABC News. His books “Bunts” and “Men at Work: The Craft of Baseball” both were New York Times Bestsellers.

Sexton, aside from being NYU president, is also the Dean Emeritus of the university’s Law School. His latest book “Baseball as a Road to God: Seeing Beyond the Game” was published in March 2013.
