A video uploaded to YouTube on Saturday reveals an Arab attempt to lynch a Jew near the village of Asira al-Qibliya in Shomron.
The video, which was filmed by the Arabs, shows a group of Arabs surrounding the Jewish man and begin to pelt him with rocks.
The Jew is shown tripping and falling on the ground, while the Arabs continue to beat him until several other Jews with rocks in their hands come along and cause the Arabs to run off.
In recent months, Arabs have attacked Jewish motorists with rocks, in what is starting to again become a common phenomenon on the roads of Judea and Samaria, as it was in the days of the 2002 Second Intifada. In September of this year, in fact, the number of such attacks had more than doubled in comparison to the figures for September 2010.
Rock attacks can be deadly, as they are indeed intended to be, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash the car. That is precisely how two Jewish residents of the Judean city of Kiryat Arba — Asher Palmer and his baby son Yonatan — lost their lives in September.
The residents of Kiryat Arba recently renewed the work of a local civilian patrol of area roads and are working to protect one another from such rock attacks.
