While US Secretary of State has spent the last few days pushing for renewed peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and as the European Union places pressure on Israel over construction in Judea, Samaria and the Golan Heights, the PA has shown no indication of ending its longstanding record of antisemitic incitement.
Quite the contrary.
A cartoon aired on PA TV Wednesday – when Kerry was still hard at work – and translated by MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute), shows an antisemitic depiction of the battle between the Jews of Medina and Muhammed.
During the cartoon, the Jews are shown conspiring with the devil, and portrayed in various negative steriotypes.
On Wednesday, Abraham Foxman, National Director of the US-based Anti Defamation League (ADL) condemned a decision by the EU to essentially boycott Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and the Golan Heights.
Foxman accused EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton of granting the Palestinian a “free pass” and called on the EU to end its “long-standing habit of not holding the Palestinian Authority responsible for its actions and inactions that are unequivocally obstacles to peace.”
This may have been what he had in mind.
