Police in New York Urge More Security at Jewish Institutions

Israel’s campaign against Hamas terrorists in Gaza has led to repercussions in the Jewish world, as anti-Semites and anti-Israel activists around the world organize mass protests against Israel’s defensive actions. As a result, synagogues and Jewish institutions in large cities, including New York, have been advised by police to take extra steps to ensure their security.

In New York, police stressed that they did not have any specific warnings about institutions that could be in danger. With that, according to reports, a 22-year-old individual called two Manhattan synagogues and threatened that he would harm Jews in New York if Israel did not end its defensive action against Gaza.

Similar increases in security were being called for in other large cities with substantial Jewish populations and a plethora of Jewish institutions.

Large anti-Israel protests have ben taking place in cities throughout the world, and the fear is that the mobs at these protests will easily be recruited to take part in anti-Jewish activities in those cities. In London, some 200 police separated between a mob or anti-Israel protesters and a smaller pro Israel group.

There were both anti-Israel and pro-Israel protests near the White House Sunday.
