Bus stop collapses in Jerusalem during rush hour, injuring four

Four people were lightly injured when a truck ran into a bus stop on Monday morning on HaShomer Street in Jerusalem, causing the bus stop to collapse on top of the commuters who were standing under it.

The accident occurred just after eight a.m. during rush hour. Volunteer paramedics from United Hatzalah applied first aid to the victims.

One of the paramedics, Eitan Brill told reporters “When I arrived on scene, I realized that it was a severe accident, and it was only a miracle that no one was killed. The bus stop broke and disintegrated as a mother and infant as well as two elderly people were standing under it. They told us as we were helping that just moments before a bus came and picked up a large number of children who were on their way to school and waiting at the stop.”

“The four commuters were only, miraculously, lightly injured,” he said.
