Ya’akov Don, a 52-year-old resident of Alon Shevut in Judea, has been named as one of three victims murdered in Thursday night’s shooting attack in Gush Etzion.
Don is a father of four, and was murdered by the gunfire from an Arab terrorist. An 18-year-old American student who was studying at a Beit Shemesh yeshiva was also murdered in the attack, as was a Palestinian Arab killed accidentally by the terrorists.
The Arab victim in the attack hailed from one of the adjacent villages. Likewise seven other victims were wounded in the attack, and were evacuated to Shaare Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
The terrorist was apprehended by a Border Police officer, but was unharmed in the incident.
An initial investigation has revealed the terrorist arrived from Alon Shevut Junction and opened fire with an uzi sub-machine gun at a minibus carrying American tourists who came to visit Israel.
Afterwards, the terrorist continued to drive and opened fire on several other cars before crashing into another vehicle.
