Condition of Gush Etzion stabbing victim improving

Shaare Zedek Medical Center announced Thursday morning a slight improvement in the condition of the woman injured in a stabbing attack outside the Rami Levy supermarket in Gush Etzion.

After being stabbed and moderately wounded by an Arab terrorist Wednesday afternoon, the woman was evacuated to the Jerusalem hospital with the knife still in her back.

The knife’s blade was removed from her spine during surgery and she is now being treated in the intensive care unit, in stable condition.

A similar attack occurred Tuesday evening, when a soldier was stabbed by two terrorists at the Gush Etzion Junction.

The 19-year-old was evacuated to Shaare Zedek in moderate condition, with stab wounds to his upper body; the two terrorists were shot dead by security forces on scene.

Shaare Zedek also reported Thursday on the additional improvements in the conditions of four soldiers recovering after being wounded in recent Arab terror attacks.

On Wednesday, the hospital announced that condition of a soldier gravely injured in a terrorist stabbing in Bayt Einun on Monday had drastically improved.

Initially admitted to Shaare Zedek in serious and unstable condition, on artificial respiration and anesthetized, the soldier is now fully conscious and breathing on his own.

As of Thursday, the soldier is also reportedly communicating with medical staff and family.
