An IDF soldier was struck with a large rock and lightly wounded on Friday afternoon, amid clashes between Arab rioters and security forces.

The clashes took place adjacent to Givat Assaf, in the Binyamin district of Samaria just north of Jerusalem. Reports indicate that an IDF checkpoint was targeted by the rioters.

The soldier was evacuated by a Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance to Shaare Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem.

Earlier on Friday, a stabbing attack was thwarted in the southeastern Nof Tzion neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Alert residents reported to Border Police officers about a suspicious Arab man, who turned out to have a concealed knife on him and admitted to planning to stab Jews after he was apprehended.

Before that incident, a stabbing attack took place at Gevaot Checkpoint between Beit Shemesh and the Gush Etzion area, in which an Arab terrorist took advantage of Arabs being given permission to enter the checkpoint to access farm lands.

The terrorist pounced on an IDF soldier, stabbing him in the shoulder and lightly wounding him before being shot in the leg and moderately wounded.
