300 Gazan Arabs arrived in Jerusalem Friday to pray at the Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount, after Israel granted special permission for the group to pass through the Erez Crossing.
The Hamas-linked “Palestine” newspaper said the worshipers came from throughout Gaza and gathered at the border with Israel, before being granted official permission to continue on to Jerusalem.
According to the report, Israel gave 200 permits to individual Palestinians to visit Jerusalem, in addition to 100 permits given via the UNR Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
The permits were part of Israel’s ceasefire agreement with Hamas in August of last year, following Operation Protective Edge.
